Things to do with kids in Whitby, Ontario

Whitby's new recreation hub in north Brooklin at 2 Gathering Pl, west side of Baldwin St S south of Highway 407. Expected to open in summer 2026 with Durham Region's largest municipal pool, a twin-pad arena, gymnasium, and Roybrook Park outdoors (lit pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts, artificial turf field, skatepark, and pump track). Check whitby.ca or connectwhitby.ca for the opening date and swim/skate schedules once the complex is live.

Outdoor playground at Iroquois Park Sports Centre (500 Victoria St W). Wood chip surfacing. Washrooms may be available in the sports centre during building hours.

Sensory equipment includes fibre optic tails, mood lights, bubble wall, swing chair, tactile wall, and sound machine. First visit requires an orientation. Award-winning 420-slip full-service marina on Lake Ontario. Public boat launch at 650 Gordon St (typically open Apr 15–Nov 15). Hosts Canada Day, Whitby Ribfest and other waterfront events.
