Playloola recently opened in Oshawa near the Wal-Mart close to Stevenson & the 401. We've been there twice already and the kids had a blast. The eating area is a little small, but other than that the play place is amazing! Admission is $16.99 per child; no cost for parents.

Rotary Food Truck Frenzy

Over 30 food trucks, local artisans, and kids activities packed into one spot at Iroquois Park. Admission is $5 per person and kids 14 and under get in free. Organized by the Rotary Club of Whitby, with all proceeds going to local and global charities. This one is worth the whole afternoon.

The Whitby Farmers Market runs every Wednesday at Celebration Square (season runs May through fall). Fresh produce, local treats, and one-of-a-kind makers. Free to browse; a solid mid-week outing with the family.

Whitby Civic Recreation Complex: Pools

The Civic Complex has something in the pool nearly every hour this week. Recreational Swim (all ages, unstructured) runs Friday evening 7–9 PM, Saturday and Sunday 2:30–4:30 PM, and Monday evening 7:30–9 PM. Parent and Tot Swim (newborn to age 5, tots 3 and under free with adult) is on Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at various midday times. Drop-in fees apply. No advance registration needed for any of these sessions.

Over at Iroquois Park, the Recreational Swim on Sunday (May 31) runs 3:30–5:00 PM, all ages welcome. Parent and Tot Swim is available Friday 9:30 AM–1:00 PM and Tuesday 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. Drop-in fees apply and no registration is required. Note that the Food Truck Frenzy is in the same complex's parking area that weekend, so plan your timing!
