This Friday, Market In The Park comes to Whitby Civic Park: local makers, artisans, and small businesses in one outdoor spot, 10 AM to 3 PM at 30 Bassett Boulevard. It's a great way to kick off the weekend and support local at the same time.

Also on Friday, Oshawa has a packed evening with the Kars on King classic auto show starting at 3:30 PM downtown, and the Touch-a-Truck event from 4–8 PM at the Tribute Communities Centre. Both are free and happening the same night, so it's easy to catch both. The Oshawa Asian Night Market also opens Friday evening and runs through Sunday at The Oshawa Markets: street food, culture, live entertainment, and free admission all weekend.

One more worth flagging, and yes, it's a bit of a drive to Toronto: the Ontario Science Centre has moved to Harbourfront Centre for the summer and kids 17 and under get in free. It runs until September 7, so there are still a few weekends left to make it happen. Full details below.
